After seeing pictures in our newsletter many of youhave asked what kind of chickens ? We have no idea. Chicken chickens that lay delicious brown eggs each day. We have named them of course. Henry, Digger, Browny and Little Red Hen. They all have their own personality and are very entertaining.. Since Two of the hens have hatched chicks we now have 5 more. Hens or rooster ?? time will tell! Browny is now sitting on 11 eggs ready to hatch anyday now so we will keep you posted. Our friends and neighbors are our teachers since this is a new experience for both of us. Frank built a beautiful chicken coop . However with all the new additions Henry is out side sleeping in a tree. Frank says he is one smart dude!

Update :October 19,2016

The original chick’s are now 3 months old but unfortunately their numbers deminished to 3. However Browny had another batch of 6 which  were hatched 3 weeks ago. WE are definately in a learning stage of raising chickens. Henry , our rooster is still sleeping high in a tree each night along with a hen who has decided to lay her eggs in Frank’s workshop instead of the chicken coop. Frank found her nest while working on his latest project which is to enlarge the coop so the new chicks can be seperated  from the hens until they are old enough to go out in the garden by themselves.

Located on the town sqaure in the gazabo the store is
open from 10am to 2pm daily , closed Tuesdays and Sundays normally.The store is owned and run by the membership.

All items are sewn by hand and are one of a kind items. Colorful Quilts, wall hangings, table runners,hot pads, potholders, purses and wallets and many small useful items are found in the store.

Wednesdays and Saturdays the women and young people are in the store to work on their projects and also learn and to sew new patterns and use new techniques.

WE love visitors. Stop in if your in the area and then walk across the sqaure for a delicious cup of Pluma Coffee. Since Pluma is known for its excellent coffee you will find many items in the store made with coffee theme fabric.

Frank and Mary Lou live and minister in the Sierre Madre Mountins of southern Mexico sharing the Love of Christ stitch by stitch and seed by seed.
Hilos de Amor quilting ministry began in 2003 when a young zapotec girl saw mary lou’s hand sown quilt squares and asked, “Whose hands did this?” She then asked if she could learn to sew along with her mother and sisters. Soon word spread throughout the mountins and women came to sew quilts in our home for their families. Biblical quilt patterns, with scripture, helped the women to learn how God’s word applied to their everyday life and and also about God’s great love for each of them. When the women relocated into town and washed their quilts and hung them out to dry neighbors became curious. Soon groups began meeting through out the mountains.
In 2009 Hilos de Amor became a legal mexican non -profit organization owned and run by the members and their elected leaders.
Frank’s garden ministry began after we attended ECHO Farm conference in2007. WE learned about different seeds that had the potential to produce oraganical grown fruits and vegatablesin our area. a variety of seeds were planted each year with limited sucess due to the ferocious insect population and a rainy season that lasts for 6 months. AFter 10 years frank has been able to introduce Ethiopian Kale, pigeon peas and amaranth to the area. While sharing seeds Frank is able to build relationsships with the men in the area , allowing him the opportunity to share the WOrd of God.
AS stitches produce quilts and seeds produce fruit, lives are changed bythe Love of God.

God can use anything to share HIs love and touch the hearts of HIs people.
